Hi there,
Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with Lightspeed on Glassdoor. We take your feedback very seriously.
We would never want a candidate to feel that their interview experience was negatively impacted due to their gender or race. Lightspeed was founded in Montreal’s gay village and our original members were all part of the LGBTQ+ community. The ethos of our business has been about inclusion from the very beginning, and we strive to provide a workplace where everyone belongs.
We aim to deliver fair interviews and we have delivered numerous training sessions on inclusive and objective hiring practices internally. As you mentioned, the interview panel in your case was diverse and it is one of the things we do to ensure diversity of thoughts in our decision-making process.
The People & Culture Coordinator role is part of a team led by a woman of colour, who doesn’t take your feedback lightly by any means. We diligently use consistent interview questions and scorecards to ensure unbiased candidate assessment. Unfortunately, most people we interview are not a fit for the roles that we are hiring for.
We’re constantly looking at ways to improve our interview practices and we thrive to provide a positive experience to all candidates. We sincerely regret that we missed the mark this time with you. We would be happy to have a confidential conversation if you wanted to contact us, please email us at hi@lightspeedhq.com and ask to speak to Milena Le Mancq.
Regards,
Milena, Talent Acquisition Manager
