Unserious and unprofessional. Got through the 3 stages and got a verbal offer which I accepted. 2 weeks of radio silence, then I get told they have a hiring freeze. Understandable. I had already moved on. Hiring manager emails me about another week later, telling me they have a temporary hiring budget freeze, which will be over in 3 months and they'd still like me to join then. I said ok, to keep the door open. Yet another week later, recruiter contacts me again to say that they are not moving forward with the position. Honestly, what a terribly disrespectful way of handling a candidate's time, specially after a verbal offer was already extended and accepted. Unbelievable. To be fair, both managers I interviewed with came across like serious and well-meaning professionals, so this seems like a structural issue, which is an even bigger red flag. If this is how they handle people they are trying to get to join... I would definitely avoid this company if possible.
