Entrevista
Hiring process was so straight forward. After passing the online test, I received a phone call where I was asked a few questions surrounding the role (why Lidl, can I work at 5am, can I handle heavy lifting- no injuries etc). This process lasted 5 minutes, the interviewer was lovely.
I was then invited to a face to face interview with the area manager and the store manager. (This was the first and last face to face interview- says first stage but there is only one stage- strange). Again, lovely interviewers- stressed that the interview would be super informal. Asked me about myself which was followed by 6 competency based questions and that was it. All in all, super relaxed and easy interview.
Tip #1- smile smile smile, say please and thank you, talk to them about their day, wish them a nice week- make a good first impression. Might seem so obvious but you will stand out so much more (“interviewers make a decision in the first 10 seconds”)
Tip #2- relate answers back to how the customer was so happy in the end. At the end of the day, they are the priority! May also seem super obvious but they told me about how so many people directed it back to how it benefited themselves- wrong

Only you and one other colleague are working and your colleague is on the tills. There is a puddle on the floor, a queue at the tills and no milk in the fridge. How do you prioritise?
A customer has complained because you have ran out of her favourite chocolate biscuits and last time she visited the store they were also not in stock. There isn’t a delivery due until tomorrow morning. Guide me through what you would do in this situation.

It was a relaxed interview by two members of Lidl. It took 15 minutes and they asked a checklist of questions which were mainly based on experience and experiences I’ve faced in customer service.

First there is an online assessment to be completed then if successful invite to in person interview. The interview is generally with the store manager and the area manager. However this could be a store manager and deputy store manager.

It was good and very interactive. I was interviewed by two managers and I was asked a bunch of question. Just be confidant and flow with the questions. I’d rate it a 7/10.
