I was contacted by the recruiter, who asked me several questions about my background, and my confidence in myself to do the job. 3 days after that I was contacted by the department manager who doubled down on the questions the recruiter asked. I was told to make sure I wanted the job, and to call after the weekend whether or not I wanted the face to face interview. I called and indicated that I did want to continue the process. I did the face to face with 2 managers and I did well, but they decided to hire internally. I got a follow up call to thank me for applying, and to see if they could retain my resume for future job opening.
