Very straightforward questions. I had a panel interview with 3 people. I left the interview really unsure of where I stood. It took a week to get an offer of employment after the interview.

I submitted a resume and cover letter online. I was called and answered a couple questions over the phone (availability, work experience, etc), and then invited in for an interview. My interview lasted approximately 40 minutes and consisted of 10 questions that were selected by my interviewers and approved by the organization. I was interviewed by three people (my future immediate supervisor, branch assistant manager, and branch manager). They took turns asking me questions, and I got as much time to answer the questions as needed. While I answered, they took notes. After they asked me questions, I asked them a couple questions. Then I left. I did not hear back until after my references were contacted and a background check was completed. That process took a couple of weeks. After that, I was contacted and asked when I could start. I started the monday following that phone call. The whole process was straight forward, but time consuming. If they didn't need to conduct the background check, the whole thing would go a lot faster. But I understand that they need to complete that step due to the prevalence of small children in the library. One thing that surprised me was that every interview question I was asked was available online when I searched for "commonly asked library interview questions" the night before, so i was well prepared.
