I applied for this position which was advertised on Linkedin in December 2020. I applied with a cover letter and my CV. Just before Christmas, I received notification that my application had been shortlisted and was invited for an interview. I was also asked to complete a 90-minute assessment before the interview. The assessment was to write a report to give recommendations on how to reduce training expenditure. I was interviewed via Zoom in January 2021. There were 3 people on the panel (the hiring manager and 2 others) who asked me several questions and I was then allowed to ask questions. At the end of the interview, I was informed that there are no more stages left of the interview process. Secondly, I was told that I would be contacted the following week with the outcome. Instead, however, later that day I received an email from HR to say that the hiring manager would like to have an informal chat with me next week before making a decision. I attended the informal chat via Zoom with the hiring manager only the following week. I was asked more questions about my work experience and I was allowed to ask more questions about the role, the team and remote working. This lasted for 30 minutes and the hiring manager said that he will let me know the outcome very soon. Also that he would be happy to give feedback about the 90-minute assessment. 6 days passed following the informal chat and I had not had any response so I emailed HR to follow up. Within less than an hour, HR replied to say I was not successful and was given 2 short sentences of feedback from the hiring manager. I asked HR for feedback and they cc’d in the hiring manager on the email showing my request. I followed up via email to the hiring manager asking for feedback a few days later as a courtesy reminder. It has now been 2 weeks and did not receive full feedback about my interview and assessment. The interview process was fine, the only reason why I’ve rated this experience as negative was that: a) I had no communication after the informal chat. I had to make contact to find out if I had been successful. Also, no one apologised for not contacting me to confirm the outcome. b) I did not receive full feedback about my interview and assessment as promised. Both of which are very disappointing!
