Applied online and got a response from someone in a couple of days. He asked me to do a code project and then totally ghosted me after I spent 5+ hours on it. I don't care that I didn't get the job - tell me to buzz off, that'd be fine. But if you're asking candidates to spend multiple hours of their personal time on the process, at least have the decency to say "thanks, but no thanks". Would be applicants, don't waste your effort.
