Lassen Group calls you, dangles a carrot of a job to keep you on the phone and set themselves up to “interview” you, then asks for the contact information of your last manager, as well as the contact information of every hiring manager you’ve interviewed with during your job search. They claim that they need this information to make you appear more attractive to other hiring managers in order to show that you’re in demand. Lies! If you say you haven’t had any interviews, they no longer want to speak with you. If you press them for more information about the job they claim to have for you, they dodge your questions and put you hold indefinitely or end the call. If you continue to play their game, they schedule an in-person interview with you, which will cost you $9.00 in parking that they refuse to validate. They also tell you that there’s no sign outside their office because of all the walk-in solicitors they get. More lies! What solicitor is willing to pay $9.00 to park just to go door to door in the off-chance they might be able to sell something?? By getting you to pay for parking, they know they’ve gotten you committed to staying so they can milk you for information on who else is hiring. I didn’t go to the scheduled interview and never got a follow-up call asking what happened. This only confirmed my opinion that they aren’t really in the business of helping people find jobs. In summary, Lassen Group is a real shady outfit that uses unscrupulous tactics to prey on job seekers to milk them for information about who is hiring.
