Me postulé en línea. El proceso tomó 3 días. Acudí a una entrevista en LaserAway

      Entrevista

The process was easy, after an initial call with the talent acquisition specialist I was set up with a Zoom meeting with the manager of the region I would be in. At the end of the zoom interview I was offered the position, and accepted. However, I turned it down 2 days later. *WHY I TURNED IT DOWN, PLEASE READ* The manager mentioned two things that really stood out to me. 1- "You get out of this position what you put into it. When I was in that role I would take my son to baseball practice on the weekends and make calls in between games" - This shows to me that there is no work life balance, and an expectation of working any free minute and on the weekends (one day is required) 2- "If I am unavailable, because of calls like this, then the lead will be there if you need it." - How it was said made it seem like being gone for interview calls was normal. So normal, that they have someone else in charge during that time. There is a high turnover rate with this role and this comment showed that. CALL VOLUME Call volume was also repeatedly brought up. While they care about talk time metrics, they really seem to have a main focus on call volume. It was stated they want 200+ calls a day. This is nearly impossible to do within an 8 hour day. On the interview it was mentioned a lot of reps get up early to work other regions or make calls into the evening. 200 calls can easily take 12 hours to complete. LEADS The leads new hires are given are old "warm" leads that have already been contacted 20+ times. Yes, they "were" warm at one point. But, they have been worked to far. New hires also get new store calendars, and it can take a lot of time for a new store to actually grow their leads. PAY The remote position is 100% commission. This wouldn't be a bad deal if the leads were truly warm. Many days this would mean 12 hour days without pay. You are doing the companies dirty work for free. No OT pay. BENEFITS Expensive health insurance. For a married couple it is $1,000 a month on a PPO plan. Dental is $650 for the year and only covers two cleanings, after you hit the out of pocket $2,000 deductible then the plan pays 80%. The company offers 60% off of store treatments after 90 days. Laser Away is already more expensive than the market rate. PAPERWORK The day after the interview I was sent 11 documents to sign before I even started. After reviewing all the documents there were many items that were not relevant to the position, and seemed invasive and micromanaging. LEAVE As a remote sales, commission based employee there is NO accrued paid PTO, vacation or sick leave. It is at your managers discretion to approve your unpaid time off. There is no overtime pay. REIMBURSEMENT Being remote we are expected to use our own computer, phone and plan, and internet. The company only includes a $60 reimbursement each month on your paycheck. REVIEWS After the reading the paperwork (which I did not sign), I decided to read employee reviews from negative to positive. I was shocked at the amount of negative reviews, that all said the same thing, regardless of position or location. Almost everything I heard in the interview, and read in the paperwork, was somehow included in the negative reviews. The higher-up team is great at their wording so you feel like the roadblocks are benefits. TEAM I have nothing but positive things to say about the talent acquisition specialist and the SW Regional Manager. I even spoke with HR regarding questions I had on the employment forms and they were friendly and responsive. OVERALL If you have a hustle mindset are young, not in a relationship, don't have kids, or much a social life then there is potential to make money in this role. You will have to call hundreds of poor leads to get through, but with the right drive it is possible and I believe there can be success.

It was a 2 step interview process minimum. First with sales recruiter over the phone, 2nd with regional manager via zoom. I also had a 3rd with a different regional manager.
