The entire process here at lakefront marketing was different than any other company I have applied with. When I was asked to come for a 1st interview i only had the option to schedule at 7:30 am or 8:30 am and I was driving from 3 hours away. I left at 4:30 in the morning to make it to my interview since there could be traffic, and the first interview only took about 20 minutes. The hiring manager really only explained about the business (but I think he left quite a bit out as well) and I really barley got the opportunity to ask or answer questions. I was invited back for a 2nd interview, and we were able to schedule this the same day after I moved my afternoon schedule around (since I did not want to make the 6 hour round trip again the following day). At the second interview I went onsite to a Sams Club where they were selling a product, they asked customers if they would review the product, and were actually just using direct marketing techniques on them. I was asked questions by one of the employees at the event, and she told me more about the process you'd go through in a years time at the company. Later that day I got a phone call inviting me to a 3rd interview... mind you they really only total saw me for an hour in the first 2 interviews, and asked me maybe 5-6 questions. They wanted me to come back THE NEXT DAY, which I told them moving my schedule around again that day would be impossible.. so we set the interview up for Monday at 8 am instead. Monday I left again, very early in the morning, and met the hiring manager for a 3rd interview. They gave me a sheet of paper to fill out regarding the 2nd interview, and I felt like they were quizzing me. I was suppose to write down the "5 steps to a conversation" and the definition to "the law of averages" which oddly enough my trainer in the 2nd interview did not even talk about. I was told that I was 1 of 2 people who were selected for a 3rd interview, and that either way they would follow up with me that same day at between 2-3pm. THEY NEVER CALLED ME for over a day. I called them and left a nice message explaining that I was told someone would get back to me, I asked if the position had been filled, and asked for feedback on my interviews. I still have yet to hear from them, and now I am just upset that I wasted all time (12 HOURS of driving) and gas on a position which is skewed to be much more than it is. I just wish they would have respected my time and called me back like they said they would.
