Application was provided through my university. Resume, major, GPA, and an essay were required to apply. If you were selected you were contacted by an HR person and travel and lodging arrangements are made. They want to know what you want to get out of the internship and all of your relevant course work that applies to the company.

Being realistic, there have likely been situations in which even with your best planning, your system/process/schedule has been disrupted by unforeseen circumstances. Thinking about a particular situation, can you describe your originally planned schedule and the unforeseen circumstance that arose? Standard. Took forever to hear back either way. Started with a brief phone interview but never went any further. It took about a month after applying to hear back after applying and another month to get a rejection.

The process began with an email from HR to schedule an interview call. The next stage was a phone conversation. During the call, I had the impression that the HR representative was not familiar with the specifics of the role and was unsure what questions to ask. Overall, the conversation felt very cold and unproductive. Despite my CV matching all the stated criteria—and even exceeding them—I was rejected.
Six months later, I came across another job posting that closely matched my skills and professional interests. I applied again, this time using a different email address because I had forgotten the password to my previous account. Once again, I was selected for an initial call. However, when the HR representative realized that we had already spoken six months earlier, she immediately lost interest and did not ask any job-related questions. It felt as though being rejected once automatically disqualified me from applying to the company again, regardless of my qualifications or the time that had passed.
Very unprofessional HR.
Great interview process. It was 3 rounds total. They were your typical questions and I didn't have to do any projects or presentations. The team was very communicative. Got the offer on a Friday which was a nice touch.
