      Entrevista

      The process was to consist of 4 interviews. An initial call with the founder/CEO, 2 team interviews, another 1 on 1 with the founder. The screening call was underwhelming. CEO seemed unenthusiastic, and not eager to get to know me. After that I still had a second interview with 2 girls that asked me some experience questions as well as some basic programming questions using a screen share. After this I got ghosted for a month and only received a standard rejection response from the founder after following up about the next interview. They let me know early on that the process will take some time so I was being patient between the interviews. It seems that the culture of the company is 20 something year old girls hiring other girls, and it was not a cultural fit despite me having more programming/technical experience than necessary to succeed at the role in my opinion.

      First, I want to thank this person for taking the time to provide us feedback on their experience interviewing at Karchem Consulting. Up front, we do recognize and take ownership of the delay in letting this candidate know that we had decided to move forward with another candidate. We typically take 2-3 weeks to interview and make offers to qualified candidates for this level of role, and pride ourselves in proactive and respectful communication in an era that too often fails to provide appropriate closure to interviewees. As noted, expectations were conveyed to the candidate up front that it may take longer between interviews due to scheduling conflicts. Unfortunately, due to an internal miscommunication, the message to this candidate regarding the decision not to proceed further with his candidacy was delayed beyond an acceptable period. We have since made improvements to our process to reduce the likelihood of this occurring in the future and apologize for creating any perceived malintent. The interview team did ultimately decide to move forward with a candidate who was better qualified for the role, which balances technical aptitude, scientific acumen, and proficiency in the core skillsets necessary to interact with our clients effectively and professionally in their daily collaboration. I was surprised to see the characterization of our culture on limited interactions, as it misses the mark in terms of the quality and professionalism of our energetic, high-performing, and diverse team.
