Me postulé en línea. El proceso tomó 4 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en KFI Engineers en sep 2024

      Entrevista

Completely unstructured with mostly clueless and low caliber people in "leadership" positions who seem to have just been with the company from when it started and not people actually qualified for any sort of leadership roles. I interviewed with 10 people onsite. At least half of them never introduced themselves when they entered the conference room I was parked-in for the day. It seemed like I had to force out of them who they were and what they did for the company. It was really awkward. There was a generally lack of understanding by these people how this company operates, how engineering projects are executed and what the expectations were for the job I was interviewing for. I interviewed with the owner of the company twice, once over the phone and once in person. The guy seems to be on the autism spectrum somewhere. I remember I was at their office in an "interview" and he walked into the room, said nothing and just walking briskly towards me and stopped right in front of me without saying anything or extending his hand. I stood up and introduced myself and extended my hand to him to get him to respond with a shake. Our discussions were really low level. He seemed incapable of talking strategy and organizational leadership topics. He didn't seem to have a detailed understanding of how his organization operates and executes work. Based on what I gathered from the interview process (5 virtual interviews, 10 onsite) feedback I received from former employees and feedback I have received from former KFI clients, I reached a conclusion of what KFI is and what it is not. They are basically bottom feeders in the engineering consulting market and competing against like companies for lower level engineering work for unsophisticated clients for the lowest price. These types of companies operate like staffing agencies in the engineering field. They basically just hire engineers and sell them off to companies who need engineers on a short term basis to handle small projects. The engineers are basically just thrown at projects without any real leadership or direction. They are incapable of executing more complex projects. They offer employees little stability and minimal developmental opportunities. When they screw up and business goes down (which is common), they just lay off a lot of staff to right size again. They are incapable of growing beyond a certain size without imploding due to the lack of structure and competent management.

      Pregunta 1

Completely shallow and thoughtless nonsense. Not the type of intelligent and insight seeking questions you would expect for a job at this level. Almost no follow questions to dig deeper into any topic.
