      I thoroughly enjoyed my interview experience with Juro. The individuals I met with at each stage were extremely present, transparent, friendly, and thorough. They were also extremely quick in giving feedback and following up at each stage. First step was a half hour interview with the hiring manager. From there I was given a task to complete, followed by an hour long interview to discuss the task and other behavioral questions. The final round was two interviews broken up into two ~45 minute parts.

      I had a brief chat with the hiring manager, then had a task to complete followed by a chat with the person who would be my manager and a senior legal engineer. After this I was invited for a ‘values alignment’ call which was scheduled to be immediately followed by an informal chat with the department head. The task was informative and the reference information I had access to enabled me to progress efficiently. They were friendly in the call though I was conscious of the need to stick to STAR format answers and emphasise tangible, quantified deliverables. The values alignment call was a new experience but followed the STAR format and was pretty positive. We overran but they were supportive. The department head call was fun and only further encouraged me.

      Really disappointed and disheartened with the interview process at Juro, I had to wait 7 days after a final interview to then be rejected over email. The interviews were back to back intense STAR based questions, there’s nothing wrong with the STAR method and there’s companies that use STAR very well by making the applicant comfortable and making it a flowing conversation as well. There wasn’t anything conversational about these interviews to make you comfortable or understand who you are as a person. To add to that, the feedback I received was critical of areas not at all explored in depth within the interview process e.g. I was told experience with senior or legal stakeholders would’ve strengthened my profile. My experience with senior stakeholders is speaking with VP’s of sales, Founders/CFO’s and CEO’s, HR Leaders, Marketing Directors - this feedback was confusing as it wasn’t explored in the interview at all. I also mentioned my previous role wasn’t technical, yet there was feedback how this would be needed for the role (why interview me then or push me through 4 stages for 2 weeks).

      Hi there! Thank you for sharing your experience, and we’re sorry to hear it felt disappointing. I'm sorry for the 7-day wait after your final interview. I did send an update to explain that some of my team were on annual leave and when you could expect a decision, but I understand delays can be frustrating. On the feedback you received, I agree that we could have communicated this more clearly. Legal and technical experience were not essential requirements for the role and you demonstrated many strengths throughout the process, which is why you progressed to the final stage. Our intention was to highlight that, compared with other candidates we ultimately moved forward with, prior exposure to legal stakeholders and technical environments gave them a slight edge. I appreciate that this wasn’t explained as carefully as it should have been, and we’ll make sure future feedback is framed in a clearer, more constructive way. We also take on board your comments about the interview style. While we use structured questions for fairness, we’ll continue working on making the process feel more conversational and balanced.
