Me postulé en línea. El proceso tomó 3 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en Joby Aviation (Santa Cruz, CA)

      Entrevista

Had two 30 minute phone interviews where I was asked standard controls questions. The interviewer was a no show to the second one and had to reschedule - whatever, stuff like that happens. Was ghosted by the HR contact for several weeks following the second interview before finally receiving a generic rejection email... not cool.

      Entrevista

First screening interview with a new joined control engineer who asked some basic questions about control and signal processing. It's not hard if you learned well. Second screening interview I was literally presenting my work to the interviewer, and he asked some questions about my work. He didn't ask lots of questions from Joby, like why you consider joining or how would you fix some problems, etc. As some other people said, the HR after second round become Totally Ghosted. Guess I'm going to receive a no after few weeks. What I'm thinking of is the second round isn't the situation I have imagined, like testing some coding skills, or solving some problems in control systems. We were just talking about my paper and he emphasizes a lot about discretized controller design, since finally it will be in discrete time domain. Well, I think it's a common sense and sometimes you are just treated that you don't know everything. Hmmm... I guess the career path in Joby doesn't look that good (and maybe its for all startup, i would still say Joby is a startup before certification). So right now I guess they are looking for someone who can help them get certification. That's the number one thing. And for that control engineer position, clearly they want somebody focus more on the specific area like aviation and aerospace. They would prefer you have more hands-on experiences so they could benefit from you immediately rather than training you to become a good engineer. So it's not a good choice to become your first job( and maybe you wont get it as a first job as they won't give you an offer in that case). They need people who can be put in use immediately. It's truth. The competition is cruel, and they can't wait. Last, I think at least HR should let me know I'm not going to be chosen to have last round, or maybe it's needless to say after two weeks. (Which is, hmm, upset if you find the result finally by yourself.)

      Preguntas de entrevista [1]

      Pregunta 1

      1. First Round, they ask basic questions about signal processing and linear control. 2. Second Round, I present my paper so talking all the time without some questions from him, which was not my expected situation.

      Entrevista

The recruiter gave a call first. Then there was a round of interview with team mates. After that, I heard no response or result. The recruiter did not reply emails anymore. The application system provided no information. Worst interview experience ever.

      Pregunta 1

Just some normal control systems questions.
