I answered a CL posting that asked me to do a code test as a first step to the continued interview process. The code test wasn't super hard. I did it in a reasonable time frame and turned it in. I never heard a word from them; not even an acknowledgment of having received the test. It's generally considered good practice to show a candidate the decency of replying to them after they express interest, much less perform a code test. The process was unprofessional. Then again, the job was also posted on Craigslist.
