I applied for a 'no experience needed and training will be given' Admin role withing their Buying and Merchandising department. At first emails were sent between myself and the interviewer, she asked me via email (twice) and at the interview what my expected salary is and so I replied with "I expect £7 an hour" as that is what someone over 20 is meant to be paid she also asked me my age - SIDE NOTE- for people who are new to the interviewing world but asking someone their age (when the job doesn't involve selling or buying alcohol) Is actually illegal.. Apart from that she and the other lady there seemed really nice and easy going. I didn't get the job as I hoped in the email she said "they went for someone with more experience" I replied saying that the job description said there wasn't need for experience and that training was going to be given, she ignored my email.. I highly doubt that was her actual reason anyway.
