The recruiter reached out to me on LinkedIn about the role. I knew right away it wasn't going to be a fit because the role was entry level. After I stated my minimum salary she gave me the salary for the position which I politely declined. A few days later she circle back stating they had a hard time filling the position and was willing to set up an interview with me although my salary requirements were high. The recruiter told me I had to complete a one way virtual interview before I move to the next round to be interviewed by the hiring manager. I had no desire to jump through hoops for a job that I already knew wasn't a good fit so I didn't complete the one way interview. A day later the recruiter reached out saying the hiring manager was going to interview me without having completed the one way interview. I scheduled the interview for the following day with the hiring manager. At the start of my interview the first thing she said was my asking salary was on the high side which I just looked at her because she knew this already. I had no hopes for a call back because I had no interest in an onsite position especially with a low pay. I received an email on Monday stating the team decided not to move forward with my candidacy and all I could do was laugh. I am not sure why they wanted to waste their time interviewing me unless they were really desperate.
