Me postulé en línea. El proceso tomó 7 meses. Acudí a una entrevista en Insitu (Hood River, OR) en ene 2018

      Entrevista

Where do i begin? Not because i didnt get the position but just the process was too lousy. Had a phone interview with manager before talking to the HR about generic interest as well as pay range. Manager decided to get me onsite post phone interview. Couple days later HR decided to call me and get the interest as well as pay range, also I did mention that I already do have a verbal offer from another client. They still seemed to okay to fly me out (at this point i am thinking they really want me and possibly are willing to pay me more than what my current offer is?). Long story short, i get onsite, interviewed with hiring manager, Chief Systems Engineer, and Lead Mechanical Engineer. The interview went well with the exception of one answer that i didnt quite answer well. They didnt tell me when they would let me know but at that point i was also not very happy with the process as well as the location as Hood River, OR is a tourist spot and there is no housing around. Most of the people commute at least an hour each way. Plus housing in Portland area is not cheap and I am from Bay Area. Two weeks went by no response so I sent the message to confirm if I was selected. No answer. Than out of no where Recruiter calls me and apologizes for not keeping me upto date with the position and also that the feedback he received from the manager was positive. Later tells me he has the meeting with the hiring manager and would let me know details about the decision made. That conversation happened on Feb 1st, 2018 and I am writing this post on March 7th,2018. I may have not been the great candidate but at least have the courtesy to tell the candidate that he is not selected when you are promising him/her an update. I bet the Chief People's Officer for Insitu might comment on this based on the comments in the review section.

Just generic questions about self? Systems Engineering questions based on resume and projects?

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. While it sounds like Hood River may not be the right fit for you, you’re right to expect the courtesy of communication and updates through the process. I lead the Talent Acquisition team, and we’re careful to consider how we can improve our candidates’ experiences so we build on our reputation. Your feedback reminds us that one week in a Recruiter’s life can feel like a month for a job seeker, and serves as an important reminder of how the effort to touch base weekly, even if there’s no significant update, matters.
