Prior to the interview(s) I was asked to provide my salary exceptions which I did. I was then asked to do a telephone interview which went well and I was asked to attend a face to face interview with the telephone interviewer and one of the Partners. On the train to London the in house recruiter explained that the telephone interview had not made it into the office and could I arrive 30 minutes before the scheduled time to meet the Partner, which I did. I thought the interview went extremely well and the Partner wanted me to meet another Partner who was not in the office that day. I left feeling really positive about my chances of securing the role. Having chased two days later I was called back by the in house Recruiter to say that I had not been successful but received no explanation as to why. To say that I was extremely disappointed is an understatement! It was a really positive face to face interview, I was told they were keen for me to talk to another Partner; 'because I had great transferable skills which would be of value across two divisions' - I am at a loss to understand why the complete U turn. The experience has really affected my confidence.... I almost cancelled the face to face interview after research I had done a Glassdoor regarding salaries at the level I was applying but decided not to as I was keen to find out more about the opportunity. I have wasted my time and the costs associated with attending the interview - in hindsight I wish I had cancelled.
