similar hackerrank to the previous posts. As someone who finally has a full year's worth of experience, I can say without a doubt that these types of coding challenges / brain teasers have absolutely no correlation with how you might do on the job. I passed all the given test cases on the hackerrank, added docstrings and other pep8 related Python standards for readabilty. I've come to two conclusions:
1. Either IXL Learning has some extra test cases beyond what's given which makes IXL Learning's recruiting process flawed as they haven't communicated that fact and haven't communicated and complexity expectations (I brute force'd one of the given problems). Moreover on this front of lack of communication, the recruiter did not give any indications of what went wrong as I was given the standard rejection email with like "Unfortunately, we've decided to move on" and "We wish you all the luck in your endeavors." For a company in the education industry, this is highly contradictory to what they are trying to achieve. I would highly suggest they be more upfront on reasons for not passing, especially as they still like to stick with silly brain teasers that have absolutely no correlation to how candidates might perform on the job. I haven't had the opportunity to communicate with anyone in IXL's side. Please please please remember to value candidate's time and understand that part of good recruiting processes involve transparency and respect.
2. That they have specific solutions in mind for each question on their hackerrank. One of those companies that have that approach of you either do it my way or its wrong. I think my first conclusion is probably more likely, however I wouldn't necessarily rule this out completely.
In conclusion, if you would like to waste your time with a company that won't respect you at all or even give you the time of day as they have no transparency in their recruiting process, this is the company for you. Before I officially conclude, I'd like to point out that IXL Learning is a company in the education industry and when they give out hackerrank exams, they tell you literally nothing about what went wrong if you are rejected. I'm pretty sure education is about learning from your mistakes... maybe I ought to get a refund for my ivy league degree as IXL seems to think I'm mistaken.

Lengthy interview process with a super day at the end. 4 OAs to complete, all of these being quite easy. Then you move on to a technical round which you can solve if you practice enough leetcode hards. Final round is 3 technical interviews and a behavioral. I recommend reviewing priority queues.

They asked me about my resume and about one specific project that I worked on and what I learned.
Leetcode question live with a engineer that was related to data structures and algorithms. around 30 minutes. On zoom. They gave special link to do the exam on and they told you question and let you run it .

Leetcode questions similar to medium/hard level (stuff with hash maps)
There are multiple rounds. Starts with a phone call with a recruiter. After that, there is a technical round with an engineer, Then after that, it was three back to back technical rounds in the same day.
