Me postulé en persona. El proceso tomó 1 semana. Acudí a una entrevista en Hughes Network Systems (Germantown, MD)

      Entrevista

There were four different parts of the interview with 4 different individuals in each of them. My supervisor at a previous job stated that his company conducted interviews with at least 2 interviewers present, to ensure that the interviewee wasn’t unfairly backed into a corner. This interview showed me how valid that reasoning was. It seemed or felt, like one of the four interviewers, made it their effort to see I didn’t make the cut, by constantly asking challenging questions. E.g. name THREE positive and THREE negative things about yourself, and at least another two dealing with ‘high stress’ situations (managerial questions?). This was basically a data entry job, where the organization could greatly benefit from one with a highly technical background of a certain kind of 'field of study', NOT a managerial mindset. This interviewer’s demeanor was quite disgusting and unprofessional, in my opinion. At end of that particular interview, that person seemed to have an attitude, as they walked out the door for the next interviewer to interview me. As if they already made their mind up. Parts of the 4 section interview, were unnecessary. One of the individuals spent 20+ minutes describing the job position, even though the other 3 interviewers gave me a general idea of what the job demanded. This section was a bore fest, and would have been wiser for it to have been in writing, sent in email before the interview, and saved 30 minutes of all our time. No technical questions (right or wrong answer) was asked. One of the interviewers had the audacity to ask if I had to present a ‘leave notice’ for my current job, if I got hired. On the positive side, there were little to no questions, directly asking, how well I would fit in the ‘culture’. That is, no questions about past club memberships, favorite sports teams, or how much your hobbies closely lines up with the interviewers. It seems one should only expect, non-‘culture’ related questions in interviews, these days, if they are applying to a Fortune or a government company.
