I submitted a resume and cover letter through my University's career portal. I was contacted several weeks later to schedule an interview with the firm. I was not provided any details about who I would be meeting with, so I was surprised to find out the interview process would be with four attorneys, followed by a small debriefing with officials from HR. Some of the attorneys were clearly not prepared to discuss the Paralegal position. I recall one interview being awkwardly focused on the attorney's work, and I was pressed to ask him questions in order to drive a conversation. Overall, however, the attorneys were polite and pleasant to talk to. The interview was broken down between 15 minute segments over a group of 4 attorneys. One of the attorneys is also the Paralegal Coordinator, and he was the most helpful in answering questions about the position. The most frustrating aspect of the interview process was the amount of time to hear a response. I interviewed in March, but did not hear back from HR until May that I was not selected for a position. That was fine, I actually did not think the firm's culture/structure was a great fit for me. However, I was extremely disappointed and found it extremely unprofessional to keep candidates waiting over a period of 2 months without much insight into where they were in the recruitment process. HR did send brief responses and updates only after I inquired.

I applied online, and received a call within 2 weeks. The interview went well. Met with the Manager, and then 2 of the attorneys who would be working the case assignment. You don't get to pick your case. It's assigned and whether or not you like it, you'll have to learn to live with it.
