      Entrevista

I applied when the job was posted in August. In September I had a 30-minute phone interview with an HR rep. We had a great conversation and was immediately put at ease and learned a lot about the role. She informed me that they are creating the position and want to hire someone ASAP. Perfect! A week or so went by and was informed I was selected to move on to another short phone interview with the hiring manager. Again, I felt super comfortable and learned more about the role... all of it got me excited. Fast forward a week or so and I got an assignment to create three programs that would benefit one of the seven areas of development that the culture team focuses on: Work Life Balance, Diversity & Inclusion, Career Growth, New Hire Experience, etc. I had a weekend to complete that... then waited. In mid-October I heard I was selected to come in for a face-to-face interview! The interview was scheduled for... mid-November. This was four 30-minute interviews, half face-to-face, half via video. FINALLY at the END of November, I found out I was not selected for the position. This was particularly devastating because of the 3+ months I was preparing, reading, thinking about the role. I actually turned down a role I was offered during the process. The whole thing took ENTIRELY too long. If all of this was in a regular 3 week stretch, it would have been a wonderful experience, even though I didn’t get the position. Fast forward a week

Hi there, thanks for taking the time to write a review and for investing so much time in our interview process. While it's our goal for a process to move as quickly and efficiently as possible without compromising on getting a good feel for whether there is a good fit on both sides, we also are deeply committed to giving our recruiting team enough time to build a comprehensive, diverse pipeline of candidates, and then evaluating them all at once so as to minimize bias and ensure that we're objectively evaluating candidates consistently. My guess is that you were one of the earlier entrants into our process and your process therefore took a bit longer while we ensured a comprehensive slate of candidates. If that's the case, our biggest miss was not communicating that to you so that we could manage your expectations and appropriately make decisions about your other opportunities. Regardless of the outcome, I hope you felt you learned something about the career path and yourself, and hope we have an opportunity to reconnect with us in the future. And a sincere thank-you for the thoughtful review and constructive feedback - it's a good reminder to our team on best practice and I'll be sure to work with our team on this going forward. Best, Becky
