Me postulé a través de una agencia de empleos. El proceso tomó 5 días. Acudí a una entrevista en HubSpot (Dublín, Dublín) en may 2015

      Entrevista

5 Rounds of Interviews, 3 took place on 1 day I had a first call with HR, this was purely to find out if I was Human, why I had applied, what brought me to HubSpot etc. This is generally to see if someone has done their research or is simply blanket emailing companies for any job. I spoke with Denise, who was nice on the phone and had a great rapport which gave me an instant good feeling towards HubSpot as a Company. The next steps were coming into the office where I met Kevin, the Sales Engineering Manager. Kevin was one of the first employees in HubSpot Dublin, he was very knowledgable of the company and helped to put me at ease with his questions. It was more laid back and a conversation to find out more about me and why I was sitting there on that day. Some good probing questions into my career and steps taken in life and what I'm looking for in the future. That day I also spoke with Ryan Ball, who was just back from travelling and he was in a full Aresnal football kit (who wears the full kit???). I knew already this was going to be a great conversation. Ryan was great, really nice guy and was very insightful from an American and Irish point of view and was quite open into how the business is run, and where the rapid growth worldwide had come from. My next round of interview was with members of the Sales Engineering Team, including the new Director of Sales Engineering, Mike. The task I was given was to connect HubSpot to one of my websites, I chose a WordPress site and then expressed how I used HubSpot to incorporate the Inbound Methodology into my Content Strategy. Some technical, sales and marketing questions followed and some questions to see how I would think outside of the box, a great discussion followed. My final test was talking to Jeetu, this was an interesting conversation. One of the hardest people I have ever tried to read, but his questions were even harder. I'm not 100% sure what answers he was looking for from our pretty open conversation, but it was insightful none the less. From then, I was offered the position, contracts reviewed, and I couldn't turn HubSpot down.

Thanks for providing a review - even though you went through the process a couple of years ago, you provide some great insights into some of the technical aspects of the Sales Engineer interview process, which will be hugely helpful for those preparing to interview here! Glad your experience was a positive one and you enjoyed your conversations with everyone on our team! -Becky

Friendly and engaging but a challenging process. It was a long day of interviewing. Even though I don't get an offer, I learned a lot in the interview process. I would consider applying again in the future.

Applied on Linkedin and got a call from a recruiter for screening and then a manager. After two calls, this was their direct feedback from the direct manager: You have vast marketing knowledge but should study how to interview with the STAR framework. So I guess they were more concerned with skills on answering the typical (out-of-date, annoying, value-less) interview questions than the skills the sales engineer position required. I mean, interviews are carried once in a lifetime, a working relationship lasts for years. Rethink your HR approach, you're bleeding talent.

The first interaction I had was with someone from a recruitment agency for the position and they sent me over HubSpot culture. When I read the culture code I knew this was a company I want to work for. The first call I had with someone from HubSpot was with Stephanie from recruitment. She wanted to know why I applied for the Sales engineers position, How I came across the position, What did I think of the culture ETC. This call made me even more excited about HubSpot. The next steps were an API project and present it and a zoom interview with Audrey the manager of the sales engineering. The API project was very interesting and difficult but there was a lot of documentation available in HubSpot. I joined the zoom to present my API project to Sebastian and Carlos from the Sales Engineer team they were very open and were asking me questions while I was demoing the API project. The call was very interesting and afterwards we had a casual chat and that put me at ease for my call with Audrey. Once the call was finished I was very excited to talk to Audrey about the role and what she expects of someone who joins the team. She was very friendly and it didn’t seem like I was getting interviewed but more a casual conversation with a friend. The next steps were 3 interviews onsite at the HubSpot office in Dublin. The first thing I noticed when I walked in HubSpot is the great atmosphere everyone is walking around with a smile. This was very comforting before I started 3 interviews in row. The first interview was a sales presentation with the manager Audrey and 2 sales engineer Brian and Marsha. They were very engaging and open and really made me feel very comfortable while I was presenting. The second interview was with Andrew the Sales Manager of the BeNeLux team. The first things I noticed is that he came in with shorts because he just came from the onsite gym. It reminded me about the amazing culture HubSpot has. Before we started Andrew told me he was going to ask a lot of questions and to try to use previous experiences for my answers. My last interview was with Kevin the Director of Sales Engineering. Kevin was the first employee of Dublin and he is very passionate about HubSpot. The first thing we did is get a coffee and that put me at ease. I knew the last interview would be with the director and I though this is going to be the most challenging interview of the day but it was the complete oppoisite, The first thing Kevin asked is to grab a coffee and for the remaining of the interview we were just casually chatting about new projects of HubSpot and Football. I left the day very excited on the prospect of joining such an amazing team and company. Only a few days later I received the amazing news I was offered the positions and of course I took it I can honestly say that all my expectations were correct since I joined the Sales Engineer team.
