      Entrevista

      HubSpot (in particular, their PortSpot office) is a remarkable company. I knew they operated on a "culture code" heading into the interview process and expected that the employees would follow this code, however discovered that the employees actually add to and create this culture. The company has a wonderful energy that's apparent from the moment you walk in the door. This energy becomes tangible when you meet its employees, and this is truly one of HubSpot's greatest characteristics, the people. I met with Holly first and again at the end. She made me feel at home while interviewing and was there every step of the way in constant communication. Her personalization, ease to talk with and overall relatable demeanor made it very difficult to ultimately not accept the offer :) I had two google hangout calls with Caitlin and Jim. My fist call with Caitlin had to be over the phone because I couldn't get hangouts working ( perfect when applying for a support engineer role). She was easy to talk to and offered a lot of valuable insight into the role. Next I spoke with Jim who walked me through getting the connection working and continued in going through the tasks I was asked to complete using their product. He was relatable and also very helpful when asking questions etc. After the hangouts/calls I was asked in for a series of 1:1 interviews with Matthew, Zach, and Dave. Their insights, additional information and conversations were so valuable to this process. With their conversations I forgot about the orange in the rooms and felt like I was at home in my living room. They explained that the role was largely geared towards individual work in a team setting. If you ever had a question on anything there is always someone on your team that will know and can walk you thought it. I started to think of the HubSpot Support Engineers like the Santa from Gimbels in the film Miracle on 34th street. If one support engineer can't help you, they have a team of people that absolutely can. Ultimately I made the difficult decision not to accept the offer, however I will definitely be keeping my eyes open for other HubSpottertunities in the future.

      Okay, this review contains one of my favorite analogies of all-time, comparing our support engineers to Santa in Miracle on 34th Street--they truly are there in the most challenging of times, we are so fortunate to have them. I'm delighted to hear you had a great experience and truly enjoyed getting to know our team and our culture. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed you won't be joining us, but please do keep an eye on HubSpottertunities (amazing term) and don't be a stranger--we love keeping people passionate about our mission and our culture in the fold for future jobs, and our team is growing rapidly.       Entrevista

      I applied online and was contacted by a recruiter via e-mail. She sent along information about a video interview, although after some confusion I actually never ended up completing it and moving forward anyway. The recruiter and I had an informal phone conversation, after which she put me forward to a second round. I had to prepare three technical tasks before the second round, which consisted of two half-hour Google hangout sessions. One of the hangout sessions consisted of a screen-share where I explained how I completed the tasks. I heard back a few days later that I was invited to a third round of in-person interviews at the Cambridge office. When I came into the office, I spoke to three different support managers for a half-hour each and was given a tour of the office. My interview was on a Friday and they got back to me with an offer by the following Wednesday!

      Entrevista

      I applied online and was contacted by email to complete a short video interview. After a few days, I was contacted by a recruiter to have my first phone interview. Then, I was contacted to schedule my two google hang out interviews. One interview was a very casual conversation and the other was to see my technical skills with the software. Lastly, I was contacted to come up to Portsmouth for my final interview. This consisted of 3- 30 minutes interviews. Overall, even though the interview process was long, I never felt lost along the way. The recruiters did a fantastic job at staying in contact and keeping me in the loop. In the end, I declined the offer because it would have involved me moving from Maryland. HubSpot is an awesome company! This was not an easy decision to make and I would most definitely pursue them in the future if the timing is right for a move.

      Entrevista

      A few rounds of interviews with direct managers for the role as well as other mangers and a skills test. Really engaging questions, not the typical one in interviews. I think the unique questions ultimately gave me the opportunity to present a much more dynamic version of myself than other interviews. Everyone I spoke with had clearly already read my resume and had specific questions. The skills test was really helpful to get a feel for the technology and then having to explain the process really helped frame what the job would entail. Absolutely fantastic environment and people, really interesting conversations, amazing opportunity.
