I had a video call interview with two hiring managers. They were approachable, friendly, and created a relaxed environment, which really helped put me at ease and show my best self

I applied online and then about a week later, I received a call from a recruiter (this was not scheduled in advance). The recruiter asked me what I understood about Hollis and the role which I felt was unfair given that I hadn’t had time to prep but I answered as best as I could and I made it to the second round interview with two people. They were friendly and the interview questions weren’t difficult. However, towards the end of the interview when I asked what the recruitment timeline looked like (a question I wasn’t able to ask the recruiter previously) one of the hiring managers seemed reluctant to give an answer and gave me a vague answer about how successful candidates would be contacted regarding the next stages. The reluctance in her response immediately made me suspect that I didn’t make the next round and sure enough, given that the interview took place over 3 months ago and I have not heard anything on the status of my interview, I have been ghosted.
While everyone I interacted with was friendly, the recruitment process is disorganised and does not put candidate experience at the forefront. Having read other reviews, this seems to be a common theme with Hollis.

Very slow process with no care for applicants. I submitted my CV through the company's application portal. 1 month later, I was phoned out of the blue by an in-house recruiter for a screening call. On the call, she offered me a 50-minute interview with the hiring manager a few days later. I prepared for hours and did the interview, which I felt went well. The hiring manager told me that we'd be contacted very soon (that same week) about the next stage. A full 10 days later, and after emailing for an update, I still had no response. Assuming I was unsuccessful but still needing emotional closure, I phoned the original recruiter, who then finally responded via email with one line of very generic and frankly incorrect feedback. The whole process took over 1 month. It is so disrespectful to treat candidates with this little respect, especially when you're a 500-person corporate company with an in-house recruitment and people team. Looking for a job is one of the most draining and demotivating experiences anyone can go through, and Hollis can't even find the time to reject or update candidates.
