I had two conversations, one with the MD and one with the associate I would be working with. The MD conversation went well, but it was obvious within the first 30 seconds of my interview with the associate that he was in a bad mood and didn’t want to be there, or he was so socially awkward he wasn’t fit to run an interview. I had to run the interview myself and ask him questions while mixing in stories about myself, as he sat there in almost silence over Zoom as if someone was forcing him to be there. Needless to say, I didn’t get the job.
