      I applied online. I had 1.5 hour interview on Zoom. The interviewers were fairly nice and explained to me about the company, the teams structure, and the tech stack. Then I had a coding question.

      Need to implement a method for booking rooms.The goal is to ensure that room bookings are managed efficiently and preventing double bookings. I have this class: class MeetingRoom { String roomName; int capacity; MeetingRoom(String roomName, int capacity) { this.roomName = roomName; this.capacity = capacity; } } And then this class: class MeetingRoomFinder { private List meetingRooms; public MeetingRoomFinder(List meetingRooms) { this.meetingRooms = meetingRooms; } public Optional bookMeetingRoom(int numberOfPeople, LocalDate date) { return null; } } * Parameters: * The number of people, and date. * Returns: An optional meeting room that was booked if successful

      After that they asked my to translate the above code to db tables and do the logic of the findMeetingRoom() via sql query. After that we had a theoretical discussion about scenarios of recurring meetings and what should I add to the DB to properly handle meeting recurrences

      I had only one technical interview. Recruiter call was ok, I didn't get any information about the live coding interview, just being told that it's going to be live code and design.

      They start with the question of implementing the MeetingRoom code, that is mention in prev comments here. The follow-up discussion was about handling recurring events (daily, weekly, etc) in a database design context. I suggested using a recurrence table with frequency metadata, which is a scalable and maintainable engineering approach. However, the interviewers seemed to prefer a naive solution that stores each event instance separately. They struggled to understand my solution and why its needed, which made me question their familiarity with scalable data design and engineering best practices. If you are looking for a place with low standards - this is your place
