Me postulé en línea. El proceso tomó 3 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en Hertz en oct 2023

I applied online and a recruiter reached out within 2 weeks. Very brief phone call with recruiter, mainly to explain the process as hiring manager already decided he wanted to interview me. Then 45 min interview with HM; average difficulty, typical behavioral questions and small case study. Nothing nefarious, I enjoyed the interaction, and hoped to proceed to full loop. And then - nothing! I followed up with the recruiter after a week, no response, just ghosted. So...I guess I didn't get it..! That was negative, and made me think twice about applying there again.

1. "Tell me about a time when you..."
2. Straightforward case study that I realized was operationalizing the product framework for the role I was being interviewed for.
Stuff you'll likely be ready for if you're an experienced hire and have interviewed for a few product roles elsewhere.

One of the more unusual interview processes I’ve experienced started with the recruiter. She called me, then had to step away mid-conversation to take another call while I was still on Teams. When she returned, she didn’t ask any questions and simply helped schedule time with the hiring manager.
The conversation with the hiring manager, however, was a strong contrast, I had a thoughtful discussion about the role, where I could add value, and had the opportunity to address any concerns directly.
The peer interviews were more inconsistent. The first was solid, but in the next, the interviewer joined 15 minutes late and opened Hertz’s homepage, asking what I liked and didn’t like about it without much additional context.

Ghosting of candidates, read other reviews.
I had a total of 7 interviews for a PM role over the course of a month. After the final interview, I got no response from the recruiter or anyone else. I thought maybe this was a fluke, but reading other interviews, this seems to be a common practice at Hertz. I am not sure why they are doing this but this is extremely unusual and will end up hurting their company long term as candidates will not want to interview/work there due to the negative interview process.
