The interview process consisted of 5 rounds, all of which were remote for me as this occurred during the peak of COVID-19. The stages: 1. An initial phone screening with HR 2. A take-home React based coding challenge 3. A technical call with a Senior Frontend and an Engineering Manager 4. A call with the Chief of Staff, concerning contextual based questions - basically seeing if I thought like a Senior Engineer would in certain circumstances. 5. A call with the lead of the team I would be joining Feedback and transparency between rounds was very quick, outpacing many other interviews I was taking part in so this was really good, even though it was 5 rounds long. 5 rounds is an extensive process but it also gave me a good idea of the team and organisation I would be joining, with plenty of opportunities to ask questions with many different team members who have different roles.

I applied online for the Senior Frontend Engineer position, and was interviewed by a person from Human Resources. I was caught by surprise when he asked me about my former company's business model, I took a couple of seconds to think and then answered him. I guess something about that didn't sit well with him because after that I could tell from his attitude that I didn't meet the requirements for the position. He didn't ask me anything else, and when I asked him two questions, he barely made the effort to answer.
