As most tech companies are moving away from technical challenges this company is not.
The entire process was fine. I had an initial conversation with a community manager who was a recruiter. That conversation was pretty straightforward and fun. Gave me a rundown of the company and the the part I'd play.
The next process was a 30 MINUTE technical process which technically was 15-17 minutes to solve a problem bc I gave my "who I am" spill with the interviewer and asked questions afterwards.
More and more companies are going to lose out on great candidates bc they simply think they can gauge a person in 15 minutes on a problem. Let's think about this, they have experience, they're employed as a dev and you don't ask them about their current job? Or their current projects?? No you judge based off a problem they couldn't solve in that moment.
The process receive an email the next day saying I was perfect fit for the culture but needed more technical skills. Do you honestly know how asinine that is?
You don't want to work for a company such as this. So I'm happy things turned out the way they did.
