Me postulé en línea. El proceso tomó más de 2 meses. Acudí a una entrevista en Halliburton (Houston, TX) en jul 2013

      Entrevista

I applied online and was contacted on the phone about 3 weeks later. I answered some questions and reiterated my interest on the position. The recruiter scheduled me for face to face interview in 6 days’ time. I went for the interview as planed and was interviewed by a lady first, then interviewed with a group of employees (about 6 in number), with a lady calling in on the phone from Brazil. After that I was given a very brief tour of their facility and then interviewed with another group of employees (they were about 5 in number this time) with 2 employees calling in on the phone from Denver, Colorado and Arkansas. After interviewing with the second group of employees, I was interviewed by the Global Operation Manager (North America - Landmark Product Service Line) and finally interviewed again by the lady who welcomed and interviewed me first. Then she told me that I should be hearing from then in 1 or 2 weeks’ time. After 16 days of my interview, I called her and she told me that I am one of the candidates they were still considering for the position. It is now 42 days later and I still have not heard from them. Below are some of the questions they asked me (in no particular order), after telling me what they do and what my role will be, if hired. 1. Tell me about yourself? 2. Tell me about a conflict you had with a colleague in your current position? 3. How would you handle and angry client/customer? 4. Do you like the idea of a customer filling out a survey for a job you have helped him or her on and rate your performance? 5. What do you know about our product? 6. Tell us about your current job? Do you like working Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:30 am? 7. Since you currently work in the field, how would you stay motivated working in the office? 8. Tell me about this gap in your resume? 9. Tell me about Sprayberry or reservoir rocks in Midland Basin? Tell us about software you have used? 10. Have you used oracle software before? 11. When you are about to learn a new software, do like to start from the scratch, reading the manual or you just look for the part you are interested in, learn it and move on? 12. Tell me about your thesis, the software you used in carrying it out? 13. Have you taken any class in Geophysics before? 14. What does team work mean to you? 15. Have you worked with anyone you do not like currently or in the past? 16. Do you like to write? 17. You have your thesis published and can be searched through Google correct? 18. Why do you want to work for Halliburton? 19. Tell me what you thought of all the employees who have interviewed you? Is there any of them you do not like? How did you hear about this position? 20. How are you going to deal with ‘good old boys’ on the phone who is going to get so upset with you and say they do not understand you?
