Acudí a una entrevista en HP Inc. (Tokio)

      Entrevista

I got an email from TA to speak with the Hiring Manager out of the blue, two months after applying. Given that the HM was in central time, I was offered time slots of only 8AM or 11PM. Having picked the reasonable morning time, I learnt that it was 4PM for the HM during the interview. Talk about lack of consideration. My only motivation for applying to this role was stepping out of unemployment post-layoffs - otherwise, who would want to work for an over the hill company like HP? The HM seemed like the type who would readily throw his team members under the bus, so I was more hesitant to join post-interview. He rejected some of the questions I asked such as if this was a remote or hybrid role as 'unimportant' - which is an indicator of how a person will be like a manager if you join. The biggest drawback for me was that I asked about this team's success stories so far and all of the examples the HM provided were so unimpressive that I thought that if I were upper management, this would be one of the first teams to go. HP have announced that they would be laying off 6k people by 2025. Why join when you'd probably need to leave the following year anyway.
