It was very strange. I thought I had applied for a position and then when I get to the interview the HR rep says they don't have any jobs available, they're just looking for possible people to contact for work down the road if they get the work. She said it could be a year or year and a half. Then before I said anything she said this was very clearly stated in the job description (it was not). I still chatted with her and described my experience and why I was interested in a role there and at one point she interrupted me and said I should have led with something else. She said what it was and it was very niche. She was obviously looking for something really specific and when I didn't touch on it she ended the interview abruptly and said "all is not lost, reach back out when you have the experience we're looking for." It was very strange and makes me think they don't know what they're doing.
