      Entrevista

Well not overly impressed with any part of it. What I thought was going to be a challenging and engaging interview turned out to be just another talk on the phone. Started with an email form the recruiter to arrange a time for a phone interview. I spoke with the head of a new department to gather some feedback about what I've done, majority of the conversation was about the company very little about the job role as it was still new and not a lot of time for my to ask my questions at the end. I felt personally the amount of time spent talking about Gusto was overkill. I did my due diligence in researching them and the job but still got Gusto 101 for a large amount of time. That would have been a better phone screening conversation with a recruiter not a hiring manager. I was fine with it being a new job role as I've had the opportunity to form several new roles at different companies over the years and been extremely successful at it. It was obvious the person I was talking to was younger and a lot of the questions where not engaging, very basic and open ended. I'm younger too, so not dogging the age thing, but I have better interview questions when I fill my job openings. Phone interview was supposed to asking about my experience improving operational process, demonstrated ability to work across teams and my critical thinking ability. I had prepared a "cheat sheet" to have my answers ready but most of the questions could have been answered by looking at my resume. For example, walk me through what you've done and where you are at currently. I did ask about a competing company (Rally Healthcare) and how they compared, they had not heard of the company so I was slightly confused about they planned out certain things, let alone releasing a new product line and not knowing your competition. Granted it was a slightly different company but still pretty dang close. I received an email back from the recruiter just saying they would not be moving forward with me. I did ask for feedback about my interview and crickets...... No love lost for me and after reading more of the glassdoor reviews I feel that they may just want people to be complacent and not challenge the status quo.
