They asked me to explain my research projects in detail, then had many follow-up questions regarding my past projects which took 20-30 minutes total. Then they asked technical questions about transformers, reinforcement learning, and LLM reasoning.

The first round of the interview was a deep dive into my resume by a researcher from the team of interest. The whole process was around 45 minutes. The second round of the interview was with the student researcher manager, who introduced the project topic and potential outcomes and asked some light, open-ended questions about my background. The meeting lasted about 30 min. Neither round involved coding or system design questions. They were pure research-focused.
