I applied online and within 1-2 days I got a response from the recruiter, to schedule a screen. I found a time for that week and that was pretty much the last I heard from her. I showed up to the interview and saw that the recruiter was in the Zoom meeting. I was sitting there waiting for her to start the meeting. After a few minutes, a popup appeared and said that the host had left. So it wasn't like she forgot the interview -- she showed up but refused to start the interview. I emailed her afterward and then followed up several days later. No response. This was very rude and unprofessional. Even though this was at an early stage, I still prepped and did my research. I would rather the recruiter never responded to my application if she was going to purposely ghost me. I have a suspicion that they are not actually hiring. After my non-interview, I found postings for this role and many others that were posted 90+ days ago. In this market, that would be kind of odd unless many people got hired and left in a short time. They might just want to give the illusion that the company is doing well by having many job openings (which is a real thing). Regardless, this was a negative experience and a reflection of this company.
