Video chat with the recruiter. Then a video chat with the hiring manager, followed by other video interviews with Product Leaders and Engineering Managers.
The recruiter was very friendly and really on top of things. He understood that I had a short timeframe and managed to schedule all the video interviews within a 2 week period.
He reminded me to read Gitlab's handbook - the company is exceptionally transparent in their roadmap, hiring processes, and culture. Also, from my own experience seeing startups succeed and fail, seeing good culture and bad, I was impressed. Their emphasis on culture was visibly reflected in those who interviewed me. I felt the questions were good and a totally fair way of assessing Product leaders.
Although I didn't get the offer, the recruiter followed up with specific feedback. This is very rare in companies, but in Gitlab's handbook, they have a unique philosophy on why they do it.
Good questions, good people, timely interviews, a place I'll definitely recommend to friends even though I didn't get this job.
