I had a 30 min phone screen with the hiring manager and sent a follow-up message after, which received no response. About ~1 week later, I received a request for a phone interview with another team member followed by a quick invitation for an in-person, full-day interview, which was comprised of a series of 1:1s and tour - great facilities and exceptionally bright, personable people. Unfortunately, it became clear the hiring manager either didn't know what they were looking for or didn't know what qualifications to look for in candidates for the role - it felt like the hiring manager was fishing for ideas or something. Post-interview, the hiring manager requested references - several weeks passed and they never contacted any references or checks. Logistics were fine, but something about the process felt strange, not sure what to make of it.
