I applied for the Engineering Manager role at GetYourGuide and found the interview process to be exceptionally professional and well-organized. It was one of the most impressive experiences I've had, characterized by high standards and clear communication. During the initial screening call, they transparently shared salary ranges, and the Talent Acquisition partners provided a comprehensive overview of the interview process. They detailed the focus of each stage and offered tips to help prepare for the questions. There was a check-in after the hiring manager interview, where I was updated on the next steps, including the people I would meet and the key areas of focus. Overall, I enjoyed every step, from engaging with the Talent Acquisition team and hiring managers to interacting with the team, especially during the conversations with the CTO and the system design round. I appreciated the flexibility in interview formats, offering both in-person and remote options. This adaptability was enhanced by the support from the Talent Acquisition team and decision-makers, who demonstrated agility in quickly reaching decisions and were responsive to my questions and accommodating with joining dates.

Had the first discussion with the HR representative and the second one was arranged with SEM. I see there is a lack of information provided by JD and also HR. The position they advertised as EM but it should be Technical lead as per the SEM's requirement. Because they are looking for a candidate who can be hands-on more than managing like 80%. Meaning they are looking for a tech lead with Elastic search experience.
