Everyone was nice. I was put off, however, that they called every single one of my references before the final round of interviews (typically in HR this occurs at an offer stage only), and they did so without advising me they would be doing so. Criteria they were screening for was not discussed in the first round of interviews, or before checking references. I felt misled in the process. They also were very slow to schedule and only advised me I had not been selected when I emailed them to inquire 6 weeks post-interview. As a finalist, I would have expected a little more intention in the process.
