Entrevista
After talking with a recruiter during a networking session on campus, I received a call the following evening for an on campus interview. The interview was a first round screening of applicants. The interview process itself took about 15 to 20 minutes and candidates were interviewed back to back by two recruiters. Both recruiters asked questions and took notes on laptop/tablet. The interviewers were very friendly and there was already a level of familiarity between us, because I had met one of them during the previously mentioned networking. Questions were mainly directed to figure out the candidates personalities, interests within GM, and experiences. Case questions nor technical questions were given. The recruiters were open to questions after the interview and answered detailed questions about the possible job locations that an intern might be hired into.

Hiring manager introduced the company, the group, and the task. Then asked a few questions about my past projects and a proposal solution to the task. Overall experience is pretty good.

What machine learning project experience did you have?
Applied online. Networked with a few people in the division. Had a 30 minute zoom interview with two professionals where it was a behavioral/fit interview. An understanding of the role and strong behavioral answers is critical.

Tell me a time when you had to make a tough decision without full information. Tell me a time when you took a personal risk. Tell me you greatest accomplishment. Why corporate strategy?
Interview process was easy and went very smooth. GM seems to use the star method in their interviews. If you know the star method you are golden. I would also recommend thinking of answers ahead of time before the interview.
