Me postulé a través de una recomendación de un empleado. El proceso tomó más de 3 meses. Acudí a una entrevista en Gartner (Fort Myers, FL) en nov 2017
Entrevista
(1) Referral Submission by current employee
(2) One week later, "Informational Phone Call"
(3) Three weeks following (2), Recruiter Phone Call
(4) Three weeks following call with Recruiter was a Shadow call (30 min call with a "high performing" employee currently in this role to learn more about the role)
(5) The day following the Shadow call, call with 2 Hiring Managers; found out same day that I was moving to the final round, a panel interview at the Ft. Myers campus
(6) Panel Interview; 3 hour interview consisting of: campus tour, on site shadow with another employee in the TCM role; presentation to the panel; role play; additional interview questions and feedback on role play and presentation
(7) One week later, email from recruiter saying I they did not think I was the right fit for the TCM role and they wanted to "fast track" interview me for the Client Partner role
Where it becomes frustrating after an already 3 month long interview process:
The recruiter I was assigned to for the Client Partner role (not the same recruiter) said verbally I was to receive an interview for the CP role and that she was aligning schedules. Radio silence for 4 weeks. I followed up by email, phone and LinkedIn nearly every day during this time. After 4 weeks of follow up, she returned my call only to say that I was in fact, not getting an interview.
The recruiting staff at Gartner is green and that inexperience shows in their recruiting and interviewing process. I know 10+ people who currently work there and bring 2 masters degrees and 8 years of experience. This is not how you treat people in the interview process.

What is my understanding of the role and what's the understanding of a CIO's role.

Recruiter forgot to call twice at the beginning, but afterwards everything went smoothly and the decision process was very fast.
The thing that irritated me was that I was applying for a Team Client Manager role, when I received the contract I found the job title "Associate Team Client Manager" on it. Recruiter never mentioned that "everyone has to start as an Associate Team Client Manager" in the whole process. Lack of transparency! And they tend to oversell the role. Significantly.

Why Gartner?
What do you know about New Technologies?
How did you solve conflict situations with key stakeholders?

Four rounds as everyone else on Glassdoor has described.
Round 1 - Initial introduction through a recruiter.
Round 2 - Behavioral interview with same recruiter.
Round 3 - Interview with two hiring managers.
Round 4 - In-person interview with presentation.
While I enjoyed my recruiter I found the two hiring managers very awkward. There were awkward pauses in between questions and answers that I would give; they seemed unfriendly, which was off putting since the role has to do with account management; they did not seem to understand my current role, which I feel is important in order to tailor appropriate questions for the TCM role interview. When I asked about what they liked most and least about their jobs/Gartner, they both gave the same answer. One would give an answer and the other would say, “Yeah same thing.” Needless to say, I was left unimpressed so the rose colored glasses quickly came off. My recruiter would gave me positive feedback that my answers were very concise and provided great detail and a good story, which she said was important. However, the hiring managers said that I needed to work on my STAR interview... So I got two different opinions, which is always interesting. I think it shows how subjective an interview can truly be.
Additionally, the other feedback on Glassdoor about the campus being full of 20-something's is spot on. It is a sea of 20-something's where someone in their 30's can be put off if they are not living that 20-something lifestyle. I also heard this feedback from a Gartner employee not in Fort Myers, but at another location, who has visited the campus. Although most companies see that they are the ones doing the interview, the candidates are also interviewing the company. It did not feel like the upper level management realized this process is a two-way street.
