I worked for EB Games in Australia. For me, the entire situation and environment was very laid back. My best friend actually worked in the store and recommended me to her manager when he asked if she had any reliable friends that would be available to work for him. Because of that, my interview was quite informal and more of a light chat.
However, since then I have managed and run a number of group and individual interviews for the company. Most stores will conduct group interviews when it comes to the big hiring times (i.e. before mid-year sales of christmas time). In these we get people into smaller groups and ask them questions that are designed to appear more 'fun' but actually tell us a lot about the person, such as 'If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?' You can tell a lot about a persons character by their response to that questions. We also gave interviewees mundane items such as a stapler or a tie, and had them sell the item to us, using any means they thought necessary.
