Me postulé en línea. El proceso tomó 1 semana. Acudí a una entrevista en GEICO en jul 2025
Entrevista
Initial intake with a Geico recruiter who went over what Geico was and what they did. This segwayed to a salary question and how they base compensation on your location despite what the role listed. Then I was told the interview process was another 3o minute call with a senior engineer followed by two more hour long meet code challenges then a hour long systems design call then a hour for a behavioral and personality interview then they would make a decision after. Second round the interviewer was a few minutes late and had a very unapproachable attitude. Went on about Geico again for 8 minutes and never once talked about any of the work or developer environment. 15 minutes was used up and left very little time to “tell me what you will do for Geico”. My take on this was this environment is a good ol boy network and they really did not want to hire qualified folks for this role given the lack of interest in qualified candidates. I did however learn that as the role was for mobile development they were in fact focused on desktop development and nod not use GIT but were keen on using AI like copilot. However their leetcode tests were proctored and confused in algorithms ( something not used in the role ) but no AI was allowed nor was any accommodations for folks with varying needs. Pseudo code or going over past work or even a theoretical on the job problem was not allowed and it was to be a code test only. When asked “how do you accommodate people who think differently” the response was one of avoidance which told me they were not accepting of anyone needing extra time to process or time to think.
Lastly my experience goes over two published apps but at no time did the interviewer ask about past history or work or anything about how skills would transfer. Very hollow and disconnected experience.
