Struck me as odd, especially for a corporation like Geico. I applied online and several days later was contacted by an internal recruiter two set up a 2hr, 30min round of interviews, either this Friday, or next Friday. I'm not sure I've ever had an initial interview over 30 minutes that covered much substantial, but they decided to jump all the way in. First was role related- questions. Questions about test strategy, collaboration across Engineering, CI/CD. This was the only round I didn't feel great about.. I managed to stumble on,. "So why GEICO?". Next was scheduled an hour-long technical interview. I found this to be insultingly easy; literally questions like FizzBuzz, palindrome detection, bubble sort..... Nothing that needed more than 3 lines or 2 mins of thought. So, after about 15 mins the interviewer ran out of material and began scrambling to find some, but I offered to show some stuff on my github and we looked at that. Last round was with the Director of Engineering, she was very friendly. I felt that I was rather close to acing that round too. Anyhow, I didn't get an offer. No way to know for sure but I think I blew it in the first round. In all honesty this process did nothing to attract me to GEICO so I feel no great loss...
