Initial interview with Geico for the Insurance Development Path. It started out with lots of sitting and waiting, then the seven of us there took a skills test on the computer that consisted of entering incoming call information and a typing test. Then more waiting, then we found out if we passed the skills test. After that, more waiting until a face to face interview with a recruiter. It wasn't until the interview with the recruiter that I found out what the position entailed.
The job posting made it seem like a good position where you would learn a lot about the insurance industry. A Bachelor's degree is required for the position.
It turns out it is nothing more than a call center job. The interviewer told me that the only reason a Bachelor's is required is because upper management requires a certain percentage of their employees to have degrees. There is little to no advancement, and lots of overnight work.
They wanted me to come in for further interviewing but I declined. The interview process took about four hours to complete.
