Contacted by HR staff to set up a 1/2 hr screening call. After 15min HR staff did not call like they said they would. I had their number so I called to see what happened. They gave a lame excuse but we rescheduled for 1hr later. Very affirming when we finally talked and seemed to like my background. Did not explain company benefits (vacation allotment, health, dental insurance) nor reveal position’s salary like some others would at this stage. Scheduled 1st interview (Teams video call) with the hiring manager within the same week. The hiring manager was in UK, so interview was 7am in morning. Hiring manager was also late (10min) and gave another lame excuse. Hiring manager had a cheerful smile and was responsive to interpersonal banter but didn’t seem as excited or impressed. Did not ask me to complete a case study or give a presentation. HR staff was responsive to my follow up emails but did not get back to me on next steps when they said they would. 2-1/2 weeks after meeting with the hiring manager the HR staff was polite enough to let me know they were going with an internal candidate for the role after. Tried to connect with HR staff on LinkedIn to gain professional contact. Has not accepted invitation. May try to connect with hiring manager.
