      Online seminar where you are told what Futurex does and what you can expect day-to-day, questions were asked by audience of what I believe was 100 or so per session. You are given a code sample in C to optimize, easy to do, but hard to optimize to the point where you are given an on-site.

      Like others here, it was the exact cookie cutter interview process as described. They set up some online seminar that talked about what products their company worked on and allowed people to ask questions about it. Then they sent a simple code sample for you to determine what it did and make improvements to it like removing redundant and irrelevant lines while maintaining exactly what the code was doing. The on-site interview initially had me meeting with the CFO for a long-winded presentation of the company and its products yet again. It was basically him talking 95% of the time, then he asked about my thought process on the various changes I made to the code sample. I was then put in a room for an hour to answer some coding exercises. Afterwards, four people came in to review what I did and ask questions about it and about my work experience. After speaking with them for maybe 30 to 45 minutes, I was then given a tour of the facilities showing off what they did. Really, at this point, I'm thinking to myself that these people need to get over themselves in trying to sell the company as important. If you're still in business, you must be doing something of value. There's no need to shove it in the face of every candidate that comes in. Overall, my impression of the place made me think that people that worked under the management didn't like being there. The engineers were all working in portables, the main one with no windows, dim lighting, and a somewhat moldy smell. In retrospect, I'm glad they didn't make me an offer.
